The sectorial exporter registry (padrón de exportadores sectorial) is a registry administered by Mexico's SAT where individuals or companies exporting goods classified in specific controlled sectors must register. Unlike the importer registry (which is both general and sectorial), the exporter registry applies only to certain sectors where the government requires stricter control over merchandise exports.
The importer registry is mandatory for ALL imports. The sectorial exporter registry is only required for exporting certain controlled products. Most exports do not require registration in any special registry.
Registration is done through the SAT Portal and requires being current on tax obligations, having a valid e.firma, and meeting sector-specific requirements. The authority may suspend or cancel registration for non-compliance.
