A patente aduanal is the official license issued by Mexico's SAT (tax authority) to individuals authorizing them to practice as customs brokers. It is personal, non-transferable, and grants the exclusive right to process customs clearance on behalf of third parties — similar to a U.S. Customs Broker License issued by CBP.
The license is assigned to a specific customs office as the primary jurisdiction, though brokers can apply for authorization to operate at additional offices.
