Bulk cargo refers to goods transported without individual packaging, poured or pumped directly into the holds of the transport vehicle. It is divided into dry bulk: minerals, grains, cement, fertilizers, coal; and liquid bulk: crude oil, petroleum derivatives, vegetable oils, liquid chemicals. Each type requires specialized vessels: bulk carriers for solids and tankers for liquids. The unit of measure is the metric ton, and freight cost is calculated per ton.
