Electronic pre-validation is a mandatory quality filter that verifies information in the customs declaration before it is filed with customs. It is performed by SAT-authorized companies (prevalidadoras) that check data consistency such as tariff classification, customs value, calculated duties, and compliance with non-tariff regulations. This process reduces errors and speeds up customs clearance.
