A supervised customs facility (recinto fiscalizado) is a property authorized by Mexico's customs authority (SAT/ANAM) for the handling, storage, custody, loading, unloading, and clearance of foreign trade goods. These facilities are operated by private companies that obtain a government concession and are subject to permanent customs supervision.
Within a supervised customs facility, importers can: store goods pending clearance, undergo customs inspection, take samples, display goods, perform labeling or repackaging, and complete the full customs clearance process.
