NOMs (Normas Oficiales Mexicanas) are Mexico's mandatory technical standards. Think of them as Mexico's equivalent of UL, CPSC, FDA, and FCC requirements combined. If your product is subject to a NOM and doesn't have the corresponding certification, Mexican customs WILL reject it — no exceptions, no grace period.
The critical difference from the U.S.: NOM compliance is verified AT THE BORDER during import. In the U.S., many product standards are enforced post-market. In Mexico, your goods don't clear customs without NOM certification documents.
Camtom TariffPro shows applicable NOMs as part of every classification. Classify your product in English, get the Mexican fracción + duty rate + NOM list instantly. Don't find out at the border.
