TariffPro is Camtom's AI-powered tariff classification engine. It analyzes product descriptions and matches them to the correct Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code using a model trained on millions of customs records. Instead of spending hours searching through the HTS manually, you can get accurate results in seconds — with confidence scores that tell you exactly how reliable each suggestion is.
Whether you are a customs broker filing entries, a freight forwarder quoting landed costs, or an importer trying to understand your duty exposure, TariffPro removes the guesswork from tariff classification and dramatically reduces the risk of misclassification penalties.
Sign in to your Camtom account at app.camtomx.com and select TariffPro from the sidebar menu. You will see the classification interface with a central search field. If this is your first time, you will also see a quick-start banner — feel free to dismiss it once you have read through the basics.
Type or paste the most detailed description possible of the product you want to classify. Include the material composition, intended use, dimensions, and any other distinguishing characteristics. For example, instead of typing 'screws', write 'stainless steel hex head screws, 6mm diameter, 25mm length, for industrial machinery assembly'. The more specific the description, the more accurate the classification.
TariffPro accepts descriptions in English and Spanish. If your commercial invoice is in another language, translate the key product details before pasting. You can also upload a CSV or Excel file with multiple descriptions for bulk classification.
TariffPro returns the top three most likely HTS codes, each accompanied by a confidence score between 0 and 1, the official HTS description, the applicable duty rate, and any associated regulatory requirements. The first suggestion is correct in over 90% of cases, but always review all three options to make an informed decision.
The confidence score is a decimal value from 0 to 1 that indicates how certain the model is about each classification. A score above 0.85 means high confidence — you can typically accept the result directly. Scores between 0.60 and 0.85 suggest the classification is likely correct but warrants a quick manual review. Scores below 0.60 mean the model needs more information — try refining your description with additional details.
A low confidence score does not necessarily mean the suggestion is wrong. It often means the description was too vague or that the product could legitimately fall under multiple headings. Add material composition, use case, or technical specifications to improve accuracy.
The confirmed HTS code is immediately available for use in your filings. You can export it as an Excel or PDF report to share with your team or your importer client. If you use Camtom's full suite, the classification flows directly into document preparation without any manual re-entry.
If you need to classify dozens or hundreds of products at once, use the bulk upload feature. Prepare a CSV or Excel file with one product description per row, upload it to TariffPro, and the system will classify every line item in batch mode. You will receive a downloadable report with all suggested codes, confidence scores, and duty rates — ready for review.
For recurring products that you classify regularly, TariffPro remembers your confirmed classifications in your history. The next time you classify the same product, it will appear as a saved result — saving you even more time.
